Nice to see you again!

We hope you’re doing well! There’s some information here about how to take care of your new smile during and after treatment, but if you have any questions at all, feel free to call us. We’re here to make your treatment experience as easy as possible.

A big smile in the works.

Life with braces is great, but it’s different. You’ve working on a great smile, and have a new accessory to show off. You also have a whole bunch of new nooks, crannies, and “chrome” to keep clean. When you get your braces we’ll tell you how to take care of them, but if you need a refresher just give us a call!

Yum yums that are now no nos.

Now that you have a top of the line mouth instrument mounted on your grin, you need to watch out for certain hard, gummy foods that will clog up the works or break a bracket.

Here’s a semi-comprehensive list:

The Hard Stuff:

  • Popcorn
  • Hard Toffee (we’re sorry)
  • Candy Canes
  • Raw Carrots
  • Crusts
  • Nuts
  • Thick Chips
  • Taco Shells
  • Gravel (we generally advise not chewing on gravel, even without braces)
  • Ice
  • Pretzels

The Softer Side

  • Taffy
  • Bagels
  • Hawaiian Rolls
  • Gum
  • Soft Toffee (I know, I know. We’re really sorry.)

Sometimes, things happen. Call us!

We know that things happen. Brackets break, wires pop out, you just want to ask how our day’s been. Call us up with any questions you may have or if anything comes up, and we’ll get you squared away real quick.

Finishing strong.

Now that you’ve got a fresh smile free of any wires or plastics, it’s important it stays that way. Wearing a retainer while you sleep will maintain the new position of your teeth and help maintain that smile. Brushing and flossing are still as important as they were with your braces or aligners. Think of it like this: you kept your teeth and your braces clean, now you only have to clean one of those two things.

I cannot thank Dr. Samra enough for the amazing job they did on my smile. My only regret is not coming to get my Invisalign started sooner!
